Reading fashion magazines and experimenting on my own helped me relate to people, and shaped me into the person I am.

Although fashion was invaluable in developing my identity, I was also torn between American and Asian beauty ideals.

Growing up, I didn't learn to speak English until I was six

 

Although I was always outgoing, I found it difficult to connect with people. 

​

The faces I saw didn't reflect the person I was or the journey I traveled.

 

Since then, I've dedicated my life to increasing diversity within the fashion industry.

the story.

Although diversity in the industry is increasing,

only about 27% of models in fashion weeks are minorities, yet around 50% (and growing) of Americans under the age of 18 are minorities!

Ultimately, I want to expand the meaning of diversity within the fashion industry, and make it less intimidating for minorities.

To work towards this, I've spent 6+years in the marketing industry studying trends, and 2+ years in the editorial industry working to communicate these ideas.
